On my 05, I installed mine on the right side of the column and it fits great.
There is a pic of the install in my gallery
Check and measure and see if it would work on yours

I put this in from Geno's. my radio is smaller but I have an inch on each side. It's 7" wide at the radio. Take a peek.

I can post a pic later.

Heres my "custom" mount...

I took a piece of aluminum, bent it to go up under the bottom plastic cover and it attaches to the dash/tunnel bracket underneath, no drilling of any of the plastic, and the cupholder and ashtray still come down just fine.

I've got the same size radio and problem. Geno's won't work on a 6sp. I'll be interested on your solution. BTW does anyone know if a handheld CB is available with high and low bands that also allows for exterior antenna mounting?

Good GOD $50 for that thing! Man take the pic to a sheet metal shop and have them brake one up from 1/8 alum. diamond plate. Will cost about the same look much better and be custom fitted in your truck. Man I'm so tight wadded I can't bleep.

I don't have any pics but its a pretty easy deal to move the center seat/console back and then fab up a bracket to mount it facing up.I have a 6 speed and thats what I did with mine. I'm off working and don't have a camera with me or I'd snap a few pics. I think I moved the console back around 3". and mounted my classic 25 in front of it. Makes for a clean and easy to get to CB mounting place.

well, i could move the whole console back, i spent about 3 hours on it and wound up returning it to stock for now. i dont like it the way it turned out.

to make it work, and clear with a full size cb, i would have moved it back almost 6 inches. that would have eliminated the armrest etc.

what im thinking ill do is build a new bottom half of the center seat. ill make it flush with the upper portion, that'll give te room i need and still have some storage.

Just a thought...What if you mounted it on a sliding tray under the drivers seat? Might be a PITA to operate but, once you've got your channel set, you're off.

I thought the General Lee was about 8" wide. The mount (BigBob/Genos) is designed for manual shift mount. It is a quality bracket and is designed for our trucks specifically. It is 7" wide at the mounting area. You can probably have one fabbed up, but to get the same quality will probably cost you as much.

I am pretty sure you could offset the CB about an inch toward the drivers seat and still have passenger room without issue and be able to shift and use cup holders. Here is pics of mine.
