Question Cancelling the clutch safety switch

Does anyone know how to cancel the clutch safety switch so that you can start the truck without depressing the clutch?

Short the two wires together on the clutch interlock switch (Brown/Yellow stripe to Black) and are you really really sure about doing it? If the truck is started in gear and you're not in the cab....oh no....

Thanks. I'm sure I want to do it. That's the way a real truck should be; just like the old farm truck I drove in high school.

Actually, I'm thinking that the best way to do it will be to put a switch in line so I can turn it on and off. My toyota had a "clutch safety cancel" button that I used all the time.

Just curious....... Why do you want to do that?? What's the big deal about pushing the clutdch in when you start it?? is this for a remote start deal or something???

tap into the wires and run to an unused location on your fuse block. this way you can bypass with a fuse and it will be fail safe..

one thing... if your truck is anything like my old Fords, you'll lose cruise control... I had to put my clutch safety switch on a toggle so that I could still have cruise...

it's convenient for remote start or to be able to start it by just reaching in through the window, but obviously you need to be VERY cautious about not starting it in gear!!!! might make a habit of keeping the truck parked in 5th instead of 1st!!! LOL!

I did it to my truck. I have a switch on the dash that bypasses the clutch and also activates a high idle circuit when the air compressor is running. I have Kilby's On-board air and it was a pain to start the truck when I was working around it. I just have to make sure that is in neutral before I activate it.
