A/C is fixed!
Just got my '03 back from the dealer. With their help, the following was performed with DC picking up the tab:
"Replaced outside air recirculation door & housing with updated parts (pn 68004226AB). Replaced orifice tube with larger diameter orifice tube (pn 55056808AA). Evacuated and recharged system with 2.0 pounds R134 (pn 82300329) and added dye (pn 4798219)."
A/C blows colder than ever and hopefully will not be a problem in the future. Would I buy another Dodge truck? You bet!!!

The Service Writer at my dealer guided me through the customer service maze at DC, where they agreed that they should do a "one time repair for goodwill". My truck is an '03 with only 34,000 miles and looks like new. DC decided it would NOT be cool (pardon the pun) for me to be an unhappy owner.
