Bug Shield Without Ram Emblem.....

I know I can buy a Mopar brand bug shield already painted with the paint code, to match my truck.

However, I do not like the chrome Ram emblem in the center of the bug shield.

I have seen a few trucks with painted-to-match bug shields, without the chrome emblem.

Are you guys just buying an aftermarket shield and painting them over with the correct paint code?

06-08 OEM bug shields do not have the emblem. They are not compatible with the 03-05 OEM bug shields due to changes in the headlights/grill. Don't know about aftermarket...

the bug shields are all the same. the only difference is that the '03-'05 used to have optional fender brows, which couldn't be used on the '06+ trucks because of the new headlight design, but the fender brows have been discontinued.

I owned a 2004 Ram and now own a 2007 Ram. The 02-05 air deflector does not fit a 2006+ truck.

The 02-05 air deflectors have the Ram's head. The 06-08 air deflectors are clean.

then it's different for the aftermarket ones, because they are the same except for the fender brows being left out of the box for the '06+ ones. i'm not sure why Dodge discontinued the fender brows, but i wanted to get the 3 piece painted one but can now only get the center section.

Does anyone know if this emblem is plastic or metal?

It's plastic and molded right into the bug shield.

I would love to get rid of it but one would have to break it off, sand, fill and repaint the entire bug shield.

Well, I was hoping it was just attached with some 3M tape.

I was thinking about removing the emblem, sanding the chrome down a bit, and repainting it black..............
