Blower Trouble

Been having a little trouble with my heating and air system.Blower motor works on high at times and then works on very slow speeds no matter what position switch is in. Sometimes just stops blowing anything and then comes back on after a while. I was thinking maybe blower resistor, but if it was that it would only work on high. Before I take it to the Dealer any ideas guys? Thanks

A couple of things it could be. One, the fan speed resistor, the blower motor, a bad connection at the ignition switch/burnt connection or wire, or a bad ignition switch.

I am having the same problem. Is the fan speed resistor the same as the blower motor resistor?

I've had the same problem with my wifes truck. I took the connector off of the blower resistor block and cleaned the connections. One was really dirty, and now I can tell the individual speeds again.

I had to replace the resistor a while back. It would only blow either really high or nothing at all. I also have the problem where the blower motor won't blow and I just wack it with a wrench and it kicks on.

I've had the blower stop on all settings. The wrench/fist trick worked for me too, that was a year or two ago.
