Bilstein 5100?? Not avail for 06 and 07?

I still can't decide on the Rancho 9K XL vs Bilstein 5100, but I think Bilstein is a better built product.

All street driving and truck is stock. I do tow a 24 ft enclosed car trailer with a decent amount of tongue weight. Perhaps the Rancho would be good since its adjustable?

I called "4 wheel parts" and they told me there is no 5100 available for a 2500 2006 or 2007. Part number F4BE5C604-HO (front) and F4BE5C14-HO (rear).

I just got a set of Bilsteins (Blue/Yellow)from Geno's Garage and I love them. Had 60K on the original crap... god what a difference a good shock makes.

5100s are good for 0" to 2" lift as per Bilstein. I was shopping locally last week and the shop had the rears in stock and could get the fronts the next day.

Thanks all. I spoke with Sean at Lorenz, nice guy! He said to really get rid of the rear bouncing, caused by the high spring rates, I would need the Bilsteins and also his DP leafs for the rear. That should do it since my truck is stock.

Well, crap... that is now about $2K for the anti-bounce mod. Very rough calculation
$294 shocks
$1,100 DP Rear Leafs
$250 apprx. Shipping
$200 apprx. install
$1,844

do the install your self and save the money. whats wrong with the way it rides? ill pee blood before i spend 2k on just the rear suspension. id take that money and save it for the tranny, but since you dont have the 48re, im sure i could put it to another use! look into thuren fab and kore too

correct - no official bilstein 5100's for 2006/2007

I got an email reply from the guys at bilstein for this exact question. Remember that their shocks are made specifically for a particular vehicle. They have not released their 5100's for the 2006/2007 2500 or 3500 and said that they did not see it happening within the next 6 months. That being said, the guys at Top Gun Cumstomz advised me of the ones that could be used. basically, they are advising that you use the ones for other years as the truck has not changed all that much and they should work fine. Its your decision. I was thinking of going with their advice.

Ummmm......how about just get the shocks and install some weight in the back of the truck. Way cheaper than new springs.

But it is your money.
