Billet grille inserts!

Who has a billet grille insert? Where did you get it? Do you like it?

Got pics?

Thanks!

i have both left and right sides and the bottom one that goes in the bumper. i love it, except when it it time to clean it. it requires removing the stock waffle style plastic insert and throwing it away.

I got Phat Billett from www.precisiongrilles.com, I may have been doing it wrong but the top 4 pieces were a bear to install though the bumber piece was easy. If I had to do it all over again I'd opt for something chromed as like the previous poster stated, it is murder to clean. I use mothers and then a good coat of wax but it doesn't last long. Maybe one of those PowerBalls would help?
I do get a lot of compliments on it though so I'd say it's worth the effort.

I've got some cheepys from ebay, they look good though. They are the kind you bolt onto the stock waffle one though, so they look killer until you get about 3 feet from it then you can see the black plastic one behind it. I searched for complete replacement ones, but there aren't many, and they cost more $$$. I was looking at the entire grill assembly that is just one big opening, no cross in it. I think its called the big-mouth or something, but it's pricey!!!

Along these same lines, does anyone know where I could get a bumper insert that looks fairly close to the factory grill (black honeycomb plastic)?

I'd really like to protect the bottom of the cooling/intercooler/AC pieces...

I also have polished stainless from www.precisiongrilles.com. I think they are the Classic model with matching bumper insert. As stated they are a PITA to install, but once on they look great. Polished is always harder to clean and polish than chrome or plastic. I did a little modification on the bumper insert for the tow hooks.

I got a set of Trend Ar off off ebay. They were like 60 with shipping. They look nice and were some what easy to install. But I replaced some of the mounting hardware with parts from Lowes. The speed nuts were kinda cheap and flimsy. But a nice grill

It worked out that just cutting off each end of one of the billet channels made a near perfect fit. Used a jig saw with metal blade. Cut through rear bracket and then cut off end. The fit is tight enough to not need bracket.

So you only cut one of the bars ? And pushed the other one underneath the tow hook?

Yes removing the end section on one bar made the distance between the above and below bar almost exactly the same width as the OE Tow Hook. You can see a very slight bend on the bar in the picture. Not really noticeable unless you look very hard and even then looks like it is made that way.
