best place to order oil filters
#2
I use to order from Geno's, some friends still do as they show up at the door, but lately I've been getting all filters at a local Cummins shop.
The Fleetguard air filters are fairly restrictive with the foam glued on, and appear to be much less so with the foam off. Make sure you don't put holes in the filter when removing the foam.

For my Cummins diesel engine I prefer the Donaldson ELF7349 that is more efficient at filtering out smaller particles than the Fleet Guard filters. I purchased my Donaldson filter from an Amsoil warehouse, because no longer were Amsoil SDF 80 filters available for the Cummins. The price for the Donaldson was comparable to the cost of other brand filters. I have not had to change my fuel filter yet, but I imagine Amsoil and Donaldson will also have the most efficient fuel filters.

I second Mixer Man, Scheid has the most reasonable price by far for the Fleetguard filters. I also buy some WIX and feel they are every bit as good as Fleetguard. The standard filter 51607(like the Mopar, runs about $4.50) the 57620XE(like the Stratopore) runs about $8 from Filter1. Shipping is free if you can get together a $50 order. ANY filter that WIX makes is fair game toards the total.

Motrapper,
If you are near the St.Louis area, Cummins Mid West on Hall St. is the best. Ive gotten everything from oil and fuel filters to block heater parts from there. Theres a 6'10" monster named Dave that works there and he definately knows his way around the Cummins. The prices are about 70-80 percent cheaper than any Dodge dealer Ive been to.
