Friend of mine had good luck with service at Northwest Dodge on 290. But it wasn't engine related.

HOUTEX,

I bought my truck at Northwest Dodge, but I have found that Helfman Dodge at Silber and the Katy Freeway do the best work. Very good service personnel.

I bought my Hemi 1500 and my Cummins from Helfman Dodge at Silber and Katy Freeway. So far I have had excellent service. They diagnosed and replaced a bad injector. They kinda helped Star along to get it done quickly. I recommend them also. The Service Manager reprogrammed for my bigger tires for nothing in about five minutes after I drove up and ask if they could do it.

BTW diesel truck oil change with filter $26.95. Dont know how long it will last, but that was the regular price about 3 weeks ago. Service writer said that they wanted to bring in more customers for that hourly pay group.

Dont know of any real GTGs for local Cummins guys. I am member of DTW and the local chapter has GTGs about once a month. A bunch of the Hemi guys and me go to HRP about once a month on Sunday night.

I will let you know when the next GTG or race night is. Anyone is welcome.

The LSTDR group generally tries to get together once a month at the Golden Corral down by the Astrodome - between Buffalo Speedway and Kirby. 2nd or 3rd Sunday, IIRC.

The quality of service must be a function of the service manager (probably obvious) cause Allen Samules in Austin is very bad. I'll remember your advice about Helfman when in Houston. When in this areas Maxwell in N.W. Austin is a good 5-star dealer.

So far Maxwell has the best service. Samules is very bad. I also usually get pretty good deals on parts from Ellen in the parts dept. She is really sweet and will go the extra mile locate parts. When we were trying to find PNs for skid plates she was crawling around under trucks on the lot in the rain. Service guys are usually good to, especially if you give them a good survey they tell you how they appreciate it and give you a free oil change or in my case just give me the filter and oil. But, I didn't buy my truck there. No dealer is perfect though.

Forgot, also the dealer in on I35 in Round Rock maybe it's Georgetown (forgot name) has given some customers bad service that I've read on forums.

Thanks, I bought mine at Southpoint, and drive to LaGrange for service. So far verry good, but I haven't had any major warranty issues yet. Thanks for your feedback.....didn't mean to steal the thread HOUTEX.
