Best brake pads

Looking for pads for my 2005 ram 3/4. I want the best pads I can buy for stopping power and less brake dust. This is for stopping heavy loads not for track performance.

Thanks

oem is probably the best your going to get.
i tried ceramic brake pads on my truck last summer, and the were crap, i just went with the best aftermarket pad, i also run drilled rotors front and back, they really help when towing, less heat, less brake fade.

DON'T buy the value line from Dodge. They cause more dust than a west texas dust storm!!!! Worse pads I've ever had.

I have the value line on the front of mine. I have no dust issues with them. The OEMs were way bad on brake dust.

The OEMs must be pretty great. I am approaching 90k on the original brake pads. I have heard of other owners well over 100k on the originals.

I had 116,000 miles on the stock pads. Replaced with Napa and very happy. Little Dust and no noise.

Thumbs up

I'm running a set of Wagner Thermo Quiet pads from Advanced auto now. Very quiet & low brake dust. They also have a Lifetime Warranty.

Mopar value line pads are as good as any out there and the formula keeps the factory stopping distances and performance.I've seen many new aftermarket pads chucked in the trash can for Mopar Value lines.Use what you want but I won't use anything but factory pads whether it be a Nissan.Ford,Dodge etc.Once I had two race teams show up at the parts counter in the Nissan store I worked in.They were out of towners at Road Atlanta.Forgot to bring pads.hey bought every 300zx and 240sx pad we had in stock.I asked what gives.Stock class race cars. They said they tried many combos of pads with heavy rotor damage every race. That the factory pads stopped as well or better then aftermarkets but did not destroy a set of rotors every race.Just my 02 worth.Nissan also had their own line of Value pas.

What pads from Napa? AE Metallic? Metallic saftey stop? Metallic severe duty?

Thoughts on ceramic pads?

My fronts lasted about 110k miles and still have about 1/2 left on the rear. That is very good life IMO. However, I didn't like all the dust of the OEM and was tired of the orange front rims so I went with the green stuff pads. They are quieter, appear to stop at least as well or perhaps slightly better than OEM and very little dust. I have 25k on them now and they seem to be wearing like the OEM as well. I am very satisfied with them except the initial cost. I ended up putting them on all 4 corners of my Range Rover too. They are working much better than those OEMS...

Having a brain meltdown and can't remember what I bought. When I belonged to TDR, everyone was recommending a brand that Auto Zone carried but had to be ordered. Began with a D, crud I will try to remember it. Have been great for the last 20,000 miles.

When the factory pads stop this well and last over 90K, it's a no brainer for me. I just swaped out pads and kept going. The car wash guys have yet to complain about the dust.

I am about ready for front pads again at 90k did them all the way around at around 50k the first time with wagner thermo quiets I probably could have let the orignal pads go for longer but whatever. These seam to work well just was thinking about other pads like ebc and looking for feedback on from someone who has used them. I see some have used the green stuff from ebc but there is actually two different green pads 6000 and then heavy duty 7000 which have anyone used before and what is the huge differece between those and their yellow race pads?
