Bad Smell
I had this happen this weekend. We had a snow/ice storm and I drove around in it for about three hours.Came home garaged it and the next day I got this sulfer/egg smell. It seems to be when I run the heat/defroster.The temps warmed up and the truck thawed out overnight.I haven't driven it since so I don't know if it's still a problem.I did lift the hood and look for critters and checked connections and stuff. This is the first time this has happened.Same oil, same fuel as always.I still have my cat, maybe I got to lose that?Haven't changed my oil recently(4K).
Im going to try an oil change (im at about 4500 right now) I use Valvoline and never had an issue I was using rotella and yes it did have the rosmella smell to it.
When my cat was on the exhaust smelled weird, when it came off I now have the nice diesel smell exhaust but thats not the smell I have in my cab I know the difference considering I had an exhaust leak
but thats all fixed im not sure what it is??Im wondering if one mans onion smell is the same as mine??

I have been thinking about extending my blow-by tube length a bit just to get the oil off my oil pan so maybe that will help?
I have noticed the same smell, especially today after running around with the trailer. The truck has no cat and I have smelled the same thing on other CRs before so just began to assume its normall. Smells exactly like the old 90 weight in my fords axels
After reading the posts I have to say it smelt more like someone dropped *ss.
But at the time I was the only one in it.It happened on the way to the store with others in the truck.Could be the same smells others are posting about.Ran the truck briefly with no problems yesterday.
I also use Valvoline.
Could the blow by tube been frozen/plugged?
It was really nasty out Saturday.
