backup lights non op
Usually a back-up light switch failure. This switch is located on the right rear of the NV5600 and takes only a few minutes to change out. The usual admonitions regarding checking the connector, wiring, etc. apply, but most times you'll find a failed switch, especially in your case where more pressure on the shifter will bring the lights on. Eventually, the switch will deteriorate to the point that the lights won't come on at all.

I had a similiar or maybe not so similiar issue where the back up light stays on while I am driving. As soon as I tried to release the red clip that holds the harness in, it turned off and I hadnt seen the problem since then.
