automatic trans-wastegate noise in od

anyone else have this noise with their automatics?seems to do it more when under a load, and only when it hits od.noise comes about when you are at 40-44 mph when the od hits.has a noise around the pass. side floor mid way.if you are going faster with your foot in it nothing happens, but if you are pulling a load or taking it easy and letting the truck shift through the gears and step on it more at about 40-you hear a fairly load noise.i thought it was the mount from the exhaust to the transmission.no-i took it off with the same noise.could not figure it out.i even went to the dealer-they said they could not duplicate the noise.i took it back again last week, and took the service mgr. for a ride.my wife thought the transmission was falling apart.the service mgr. said "oh yea,we have had this complaint on a few other trucks.since its a new turbo, its the wastegate opening up".he said the engine is now so quite, you are hearing other noises never heard before.he said the noise is 100% normal.ok,now i know, and i am not looking for a phantom problem.anyone else with this noise?my truck has the 47re with 3:73's.my buddy has had his truck for 3 months also and he has the 48re with 3:73's.his also does it.thanks

My truck makes the same noise.
I drive a 94 Mack 5 speed during the day at work. If you are in the mid rpm range and you lift on the throttle suddenly, it makes a very similar noise. I call it a bark. The mechanic at work said he had no clue. I think that the sudden engine slowdown causes a vacuum on the turbo.
On my 03, when it goes into overdrive, the RPM's drop quite a bit. That is when I hear the bark.
I may be way off base, but it was just a thought.
Any better ideas?

I've got the 47Re and mine did the same thing. I just took it into the dealer the other day and they reprogramed the tranny. I haven't heard the noise anymore but I haven't been on the highway lately. The one real difference is the shift pattern, I actually have a passing gear now and it doesn't seem to hangup if I get on it from a standstill. Much much faster responce now ;D ;D ;D ;D
