Anyone have Ziebart Paint Protection?
Anyone have Ziebart Paint Protection?
I recently purchased an 03 3500. Sadly enough I had to sell my 96, not because engine or transmission trouble, but because it looked like crap from all the paint coming off. To keep my new (to me) truck looking good for many years to come I looked into the Ziebart diamond gloss paint protection. They say you don't have to wax it for a year which I guess is only a plus. It comes with a warranty and does need to be reapplied every year, completely fine with me if it works. The cost is $350 now, plus a free interior detailing. Then you have to pay $100 for them to respray it every year. The way I am looking at it, if it keeps the paint looking good for an extra year or two it is completely worth it, especially with the outrageous cost of a new truck. Have you guys had this done or heard anything about. Thank you. Your input will be much appreciated.
I did it for three years running. It does keep the paint nice and shine nice except for the little rock chips. I have a flame red truck that still has great shine but it has little white spots all over it where the clear coat and red paint has chipped off leaving the white primer underneath showing. I have spot painted some in the past then you have a small red bump instead of a little white spot. I must say that if I had not done the paint protection this process might have been worse and faster. From a distance it still looks like new but up close there a lot of tiny white specks where ever a tiny rock had hit it. Hope this helps. The problem is not with their protection it is with the Dodge paint.
i would find out exactly what it is that they're spraying on the truck. most products out there contain many of the same ingredients that you can buy and apply yourself. a good body shop supply place will have lots of stuff from companies like 3m that can be applied by hand that will correct flaws, shine, and protect for a lot less $$$.
I am no expert but my friend works at a body shop and I have asked the painters that work there about all of the super duper wax jobs that are offered. Well thats just about it. Its a good wax job. For the same price you can have your rig professionally detailed which includes wax plus they will buff the paint if needed and also clean the inside. The hardest part will be finding a good detailer to trust your ride with.
