Anyone have mold in the ac system?

I have a 4yr old that is very sensitive to mold and wondering if my AC system might have any? Wife thinks the truck smells musty when AC is on. I bought the truck in the midwest with only 1200 miles on it and I alway turn off the AC a few minutes before shutting down the truck. We live in MT so it is dry here. Any ideas would be great including what kind of filter to use in the system. Thanks Aaron

Mold can grow in AC system, especially if the drain is plugged and you get stagnat water in it.

The dealer has a special cleaner kit for cleaning AC systems. I think some detail shops do as well.

Yep, probably all of us have mould in the A/C system. Some of us are more sensitive than others. Maybe a charcoal cabin filter would held, if such a thing exists.??????

If it is under warranty DC has a TSB on it.

Mine was out of warranty, so I tried frigi-clean. I eventually tore the HVAC out to physically clean it and all the ducts out...

Spraying water up the drain each car wash will help (keeps gunk flushed out), as will shutting the AC down a few minutes before you shut the truck down (so it will dry out in there).

Here's the TSB.
