Anyone familiar with the SnapOn Modis tool?

Will it allow one to operate the dealer enabled features? What other benefits would I have it I purchased one? I looked at the SnapOn website.. Will this void a warranty by using?

I tried to use ours here in our shop to enable/disable some features and was not able to get anywhere with it. I did try the latest PCM flash it had and that did not work out too well. It would not complete the reflash process all the way and my ABS lamp was staying on. I took it to the dealer and they reflashed it for me. It has been fine since.

I have a modis, I use it every day. It is not a DRB3 and will not do the programing a DRB3 will do. It is a great tool to repair many makes and models of cars, and it is a true 4 channel lab scope, scanner, graphing multi meter, and it is upgradeable to a gas analyzer. If I only worked on Chrysler products I would have a DRB3, but since I work on all makes domestic and foreign the modis is great.

I too use a Modis daily. It is a decent machine, and it will access any information on a Dodge that Chrysler will allow the aftermarket to access. The shortcomings it has are due to Chrysler (and the other manufacturers) locking out the aftermarket repair industry. The government requires that most driveability problems must be repairable by the aftermarket (for the good of the environment mostly), but things like airbags, ABS, body control stuff, customer preferences etc. are not required to be accessible to anyone but the dealers, so the aftermarket scanners will provide very limited coverage of these areas.
