And another thing . . .

after driving thru the first major winter storm, I noticed that I can't get the windshield hot enough to melt the snow/ice that's formed on the wipers. Yes, from the middle of the window upwards it gets very hot, but not down where the wipers rest. I think the defroster vents are to far forward on the dash.
I started to reach out the window and "slap" the wiper against the glass to get the ice off. Well, while drifting up to a red light and one slap too many, the whole arm went flying off. Good thing I was going very slowly and no one was behind me, I stopped the truck and ran back to save my wiper arm.

1. Flash for improved mileage - I'm pretty sure it worked.
2. Weather stripping replaced.
3. 70 m.p.h vibration - Dealer waiting for resolution.
4. Rear differential whine - scheduled for diagnosis.
5. Driver door buzz - won't let the dealer touch it, I live with it.

Yeah, that's a 40K + truck!!

Interesting - we have the same truck - dually with 4:10s. I have no vibration at any speeds. This seems to plague the shortbed trucks; mine is stable as a limo at any speed.

I'm in West Chester, by the way.

They make winter blades that have a rubber cover on them that keeps ice off. They don't work well at highway speeds and tend to float, but around town they work great.

Dodge isn't alone with the freezing wiper blades...

I drive Fords all day long at work. I think that the car makers have created this problem by having the wipers that pull all the way down to the bottom of the windshield. The older cars that had the wipers about 4-5 inches up seemed to get heated more by the defrost vents. I have noticed in most of the new cars I have driven lately that the there is a about a 3 inch cold area on the bottoms of the windshield based on how the defrost vents are aimed.

I've gone to the winter wipers with the plastic cover too. Not a perfect fix, but much better than having your arm out the window on the wiper smack!

heated wipers or heated wiper fluid is the only solution. i run a winter front, sometimes the wind chill factor from the air hitting your windshield at 70mph is greater than the ability of the defrosters even with the coolant at 190 degrees. i had ice for 55 miles at 70mph the other day, it didn't thaw until i stopped.

Durango,

Well, the buzz is from the radio, mostly the bass. Buzzes the window/lock controls.

So the "fix" will include taking the door panel off, which I have deep reservations about from past experiences. So I won't let the dealer touch it and just keep my hand on the controls when I know a particular piece will cause it to buzz.
