Air cond. going!
Mine works great after they "Replaced A/C Evaporator Temperature Sensor"
The Tech told me it also had to be relocated so many fins over from original stock location. Looks like part # 5140727-AA Sensor EV

Scotty..what year is your truck? I have same problem as Lowco (freezing up and no air volume, and what little air does come out is warm) First visit to dealer, they couldn't find a thing, they just recalibrated A/C doors and that didn't help a thing, 2nd visit they found .5 low on 134, evac'd and refilled with 134 said that was problem fix..yeah right.. I had talked to Lowco and I showed them sensor part number and work order for replacement of sensor ( graciously given to me by Lowco) and they told me 2004 does not have the sensor..... I am going to take it to another dealer and see what they say
I'll call my dealer tech and see if I can pinpoint the TSB he used to fix my truck.
Its funny cause I had the water leaking from my drivers side grab handle. There was a TSB from a previous year model I found and printed and took it to them, they fixed it! You may have to hunt for a dealer that knows whats going on!

I will be there in a few hours to see what was resolved.

update:
Sensor for AC will be in on Monday.
Complete rear window assembly then too.
I had a boatload of odd codes on the ECM...they did a TSB, cleared them and so far so good. However, dealer said if problems like sputtering or surge recur, they will replace the ECM and possibly the CP3.

Took it back in this morning met with the service director, service manager and the servie writer who wrote it up....after lots of flying words they agreed to check the STAR system for any fixes , check the sensor on the evac cooler under the dash, and use TWO temp gauges in different cooling vents to check deeper.
Drivers vents blow cold, passneger vents blow hot..they said that recalibrating the A/C doors (yesterday) should have fixed it..HA HA and BS..THey also said their is no TBS on our A/C's freezing up and making it so "no air flows through the vents" I will post tomorrow, or when I get it back and let you know ....LOWCO has had work done on his and it seems to be the most logical answer...

Mine DOES the same thing---passenger side is almost 20 degrees warmer. Going down th ehighway it is a 5 degree diff but at a stoplight it gets warm!! Let me know whay you find out!!
If anyone gets a definitive answer I'd also like to know what it is. Mine does the same things: freezes up, cold driver side/hot pass side/loss of airflow. Seems to me that there was a TSB on this, but I'll be darned if I can find it.
Any help is appreciated, and wife will be cooler when we're on the road. As y'all know:
If Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. AND, if Mama ain't happy long enough, you'll be unhappy with half your stuff.

Hounddog....you are right, took mine to the dealer twice, with same problems (freezing up & air from vents not being same coldness) They didn't do squat the first time, 2nd time they said I was .5 low on 134 coolant. They evac'd and refilled the system and now the air blows cold out all vents...but they still will not deal or do anything on the freezing up. Am going to try and talk with another dealer and see if they are aware of the freezing up...Bunch of us have these problems and I think most will need to get the sensor replaced, but unless we can find the TSB on it , we are going to have a fight on our hands..
There is no TSB.I told the dealer I deal with LAST summer that THIS summer there would be a big issue with the freezing up issue. My truck,my neighbors and TWO others I talked to all were doing this. The service manager I deal with SAYS he ordered a fin temp sensor (I gave him the part number from this forum? or TDR)and he was going to contact STAR to get new a idea of the new location to mouunt it.Last summer mine also blew cold d/side and warm pass side.Dealer said that STAR told them that a 10/12 degree varaiance was normal.(BULL) I insisted they hook gauges to it and evacuate and recharge.I then bought to ac thermometers and the variance is at MOST 2 or 3 degrees from then on.But mine freezes up after about 60 miles of hiway driving. The dealers (at least the bigger volumn dealers)should be seeing this problem coming in I would imangine and I would think STAR would be aware also.

Recirc Mode?
Are ya'll driving with the recirculation on all the time? I do because of the outside humidity, slower cooling without and allergies here in Texas. I have not had any problems in over 55k miles with my 03 with dual zone. I know the sick feeling when they freeze for the first time. My wife's car did it on a trip, and it just got warmer and warmer inside until we turned the AC off and it thawed out. Can't believe that you would have a humidity problem in Nevada though.
