Adding Underhood light
Howdy,
New owner here (and new member of the site... So far its really awesome!)... We just replaced our '03 3500 qc 4x4 dually v10 with an '05 2500 qc 4x4 sb cummins... The overhead console actually _can_ show numbers higher than 10 mpg and the ease in parking lots & such when we're not towing is awesome!
Our new truck is an SLT, without the lighting package. I'd like to add an underhood light, if its not a huge hassle.
From another post I found here from a year or two ago, it seems like I probably want these two parts... I'm hoping someone can confirm that its the same way on the '05 and perhaps tell me where the plug in the factory harness is located...
56021441 lamp
56051176-A wiring
I'd like this to be factory, not have to cut into the harness, etc. Can someone confirm that the above parts are all I'll need to add an underhood light to an '05 SLT w/o the lighting package?
Thanks!
Mark

I added that to my 03, and I'm pretty sure the 05 is the same.
Those two parts should be all you need. The connector on the truck's harness should be near the passenger side firewall...
