Is it POSSIBLE to install a switch to disable AC comp without getting a check engine lamp.
What wire to put a switch on--clutch?
I would like to be able to run defrosters with out the AC being engaged. I realize the purpose of running the AC pump in the defrost mode-I just don`t like it.
I realize the AC pump needs exercised occasionally-gets a good work out in the summer
Any one done this?

 

Pull the fuse from the panel under the hood. I pulled mine when my compressor crapped itself. No check lights, and I had all blower functions minus the cool breeze.
