ABS light and additional ding after startup??

Maybe I've just never noticed it but it seems my ABS light is staying on sec or so after start up and I'm getting an addtional ding.

Is this normal?

Maybe I'm just paranoid.

They seem to work ok.

ABS goes through a self check when vehicle first started.Light should come on and then go off.No clue on the ding.

As soon as the ABS light goes off it dings an additional time. Guess I need to take it in before warranty expires.

Have you tried waiting for all the lights to clear before starting the truck? I never just jump in and turn the key, so maybe you are just a little impatient.

Yeah all lights clear. I even waited extra time just a little while ago.

Just tried it again and now it's ok. I'll keep note and watch it, andy could be right.

Could have sworn I waited extra time a little while ago.

My truck started doing the same thing recently, with the ABS light and a single chime right after start up. Took it to the dealer and they "diagnosed" it and found nothing. Anyone have any thoughts?

thanks

Get your batteries checked. Nothing came of my symptoms.

Doesn't do it anymore and batteries are the only thing I changed about a year later. At that time though I had just changed the exhaust so maybe it had a glitch. The batteries were bad for a long time though.

No clue but it quit doing it, good luck man!

The dealer did do a firmware upgrade because of a TSB related to the charging rate. Maybe my batts are not too goodeither, but that's hard to imagine ofter only 2 years....

we'll see I guess

I also had a late ding, then after a trip noticed a tail light was out, changed the bulb and no ding since Feb. May be bulb filament is starting to go? Is this some strange warning device?

Mine has done this ever since I got in in March. I've put 10,000 miles on it now and I'd say it does it 90% of the time. Everything seems fine so I'm not worried about it. All the lights work and the brakes work fine too....

Can anyone whos light doesn't come on tell me what there ABS light does right after start up? I'm thinking the single chime might not have anything to do with the light...
