6psd vs 600CTD

ok this is a bit out of the subject, but need some input please. I just bought a DRW CTD HO 600 QC today. I did test drive the new 04 6.0PSD. Both were 6speed, but the ford was a Xtra cab style DRW. Seems like the ford speeds up quicker on the topend, but lowend wise the cummins is untouchable. How do our CTD HO stack up against the 6PSD overall. any experiences??? I love the toped of the 6.0PSD, but hate the lowend..there is nothing there.... comments??? thx guys/gals!!!

I've never heard anything against the Dodge 6 speed. Manuals can only go so far. Never heard of any problems from Ford either...

As far as engine-wise, if you tow over 5,000 pounds, get the Cummins. Actually, if your a man, get the Cummins. We can get pretty far into this subject on this forum, just look around and compare what we think of our trucks to what people on TheDieselStop.com think of theirs. This site is kind of biased.

It's like you said in stock form the 6.0 PSD has more go onthe top at leas ton the ones I have driven. Put a trailer behind it and the same holds true Cummins pulls low Ford pulls high. I don' t really want to drag my 5th whell around at 80 mph though.

I really hate to say this but, I think the ferd would win in a 1/4 mile drag both trucks stock. However some small BOMBS and the ferd will be ingesting a lot of smoke

If your buying an engine for a short distance drag race, then get the Ferd. If your buying it to pull an overgross load up mtn passes at 5mph above the speed limit (not recommended, but done bymany folks), then buy the Cummins.

I bought a dodge, because I wasnt all that impressed with the ford, and the ford is FAWKIN loud in comparison to my dodge.. I already have to turn the truck off at the drive thru's so that the attendant can hear my order, I can't imagine not being able to hear myself think, or talk, if I owned the PSD.

The ford is faster, and it will take some good mods to the Cummins to catch it. The cummins is better built, better for towing, and quieter. I never have to turn mine off in drive thrus!

Man! Get a gasser if you want to drag race.

Dodge RAM CTD 2500 or 3500... Only vehicles in class with an industrial engine. Only vehicles with a straight six. Only vehicles where the engine weighs nearly as much as the competing vehicle in total. Only vehicles where it's safely assumed that the engine will far outlast the body.

CTD's don't come apart. In fact, they don't do much but run for a very long time. They produce tons of torque without the need for high rev's. They're simpler than a V-8 and easier to access for maintenance.

Now a little secret... Did you ever wonder why the Ford and GM boys give your RAM the eye from time to time? Let me share with you that it's not because they might be able to best you running light in a quarter mile.

IT'S BECAUSE THEY KNOW YOU CAN MAKE THEIR TRUCKS LOOK RIDICULOUS WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO DOING WHAT THESE TRUCKS WERE MEANT TO DO...

WORK!

There's a post in the " Other " section with a link to the latest JD Powers & Assoc. owners survey , should answer all your questions . You couldn't give me a new Ferd and the stats prove what a worthless piece of junk it is !! Work too hard for my money to be a guinea pig for the automakers !!!
