Mexican Quality . . . .

SUCKS!!
Yes, I too suffer from the platinum door panel "buzz" on the 04.5 Laramie package. Don't they listen to Rock & Roll down South of the Border??
My last CTD was a '99 Quad Cab SLT Sport which had 120K on the odometer when I traded it in and NOT one squeak in the cab. It was made in Canada.
And BTW, not too get into a political debate, but wasn't it Clinton who signed NAFTA which started all the Corps leaving the USA?? So why is our current Pres being blamed for this??
Oh well, I thought I heard some place that Dodge was bringing the truck manufacturing back home to America. Let's all hope we can soon get a made-in-America truck with good all USA quality someday.

My truck is absolutely tight. No buzz or squeaks anywhere. I wish my "Made in Kentucky Ford PSD" was as tight, quiet and reliable as this truck is.

One dealer I talked to said the Mexican trucks were better than the American ones.

FWIW, NAFTA was Geo. H. W. Bushes plan and to my surprise Clinton went along with it. To quote Ross Perot, "that sucking sound is American jobs going across the boarder".

Had both, the only difference I could tell was that the now closed Lagos plant used to factory undercoat the truck. I'm pretty sure that it was in Lagos, there were three factories that built the 2nd Gen trucks, they are now down to Saltillio and St. Louis.

Both my 1996 3500 and my 2002 3500 were built in Mexico. The quality has been as good or better than any vehicle I've ever owned - including Fords and Volvos.

My Mexi-Ram is off to the shop again today. Both front weather strips (that's an design screw up) lower control arm bushing, and the front door panel buzz. My dealer seems to think it's the power window regulator. Stops doing it if you put your finger tips on the power window switches, don't have to push down on them, just set your finger tips on there. 9 days and counting since June. I'm a Conductor for the UP railroad and alot of the locomotives they've bought lately have come from Mexico, they're junk. Nothing works right on them when they are literally brand new.

i am a diesel mechanic for locomotives up here in canada, and a fair number of the american RR locomotives are pure scrap on rails too... we've gotten so many units up here in the last few months that were so bad, we had to do major repairs on them to make them FRA legal. how'd they get across the border i keep asking... i am suprized there isn't more derailments happening with these special american units. that being said, the larger RR's like UP, NS, BNSF are ok, but our american counterparts [i work for cn] like illinois central and wisconson central are real bad coming across the border. the suspension bearings we've been seeing on the wisconson central units coming across are total scrap. they are so loose, you can grab them by hand and move them around with the traction motor still in place under the unit. now that is way loose...

Back when I bought my 03 the consensus was that the better crafted trucks were coming out of mexico and were not readily available on the east coast , so there was a measurable amount of whining from the left side of our great country. I went through great lengths to make sure mine was an across the river assembly and haven't looked back since. Come to think about it my 02 was a wetback as well. No problems with either one

It was made in Canada.

Never has the Ram Pick-up been made in Canada. All have been made in Warren MI, St. Louis MO, Lago Alberto in Mexico City MX, or Saltillo MX.
