6.7 Cummins

I talked to a sales rep at a dealership "up here" today. Asked him if he'd heard anything about the cummins for "07. He said he was at a show recently, and they're upping the HP to compete with the competition. I said "6.7?" He just shook his head and said "uh huh." I asked about the 6 speed auto, and he said he hadn't heard antything about that. So again I said "but they mentioned the 6.7?" Again he shook in the affirmative, and said"uh huh!"

From what I've read the 6.7 is a definite. There is no question. Cummins is moving the to the 6.7 for on road application to meet emissions, this is directly from Cummins and is public information. If DC wants a Cummins in the 2007, it will be the 6.7. The 68RFE may be only going into the 4500/5500 series trucks but I would be surprised if they don't offer it in the 1 tons as well to keep up with the competition.

I fully agree T. (This rumor seems to be coming at us from more than 1 place.)If you think about it, rumors usually do!

KC Jackson over on the TDR posted about it in the general section. It was a notice from Cummins.

I read, I believe on the TDR, that at a dealer show in Vegas , they had a truck with the new 6.7 Cummins with a 6-speed Aisin/Warner automatic, behind it.

Whether this was just a test mule, or not, I don't know.

There was a cab and chassis at the show in Vegas. It was a 4500 and had the bigger Cummins. This was from a dealer but it was from a dealer that just spent 3 million dollars upgrading their facility to handle Dodge's expanding commercial line of trucks.
