Copied from ROCKCRAWLER.COM....

"The new “Off-Road” package further elevates Ram’s prodigious off-road capability. Named Four Wheeler Magazine’s 2002 “Truck of the Year” in its standard form, the new “Off-Road” package adds unique 17-inch aluminum wheels and LT275/70R17 off-road tires, the 3.92 rear axle, a limited-slip differential, transfer case skid plate, skid plates for the front and rear axles and unique shocks to an already class-leading off-roader. The package also includes tow hooks, fog lamps, a heavy-duty cooling system and “Off-Road” badging."

Thanks Chris.
I have an 05 with the off road badge but no skid plates, 17" steel wheels, no fog lights and no tow hooks. Was there a change between 03 and 05 or did the dealer I got it from just add the stickers?

That quote was for a 1500 truck. I think the package for the HD trucks may have simply added better shocks and the graphics.

My buddy's previous 2005 RAM 2500 Quad Cab w/325*610 and NV5600 had the better shocks AND 4.10:1 gears as part of the Off-Road Package.

Greg

He loved the truck but ran I-75 alot and went with some LT35x12.50R17 Mastercraft Courser C/T's to get some gearing back.

My 2006 is a TRX4 Off-Road

I think my only difference was Red Shocks, and Skid Plates.

The 2nd Gen Off-Road Package was actually a bit taller like the Power Wagon package. I was hoping the TRX4 Off-Road was the same, but nope.

Well here is the breakdown from an article in Motor News.

The TRX4 (4x4) features 17-inch aluminum wheels (I have Chrome Clad), aggressive off-road tires (I have A/T tires), painted monotube shocks (Yep, red in color), tow hooks (Yep), skid plates (Yep), and a limited-slip differential (Yep) that further advances the Dodge Ram's off-road prowess. The package also includes fog lamps (Yep), body-color grille (Nope) and "TRX4 Off-Road" badging (Used to, took it off). The TRX4 package is available in ST, SLT, and Laramie trim, regular or Quad Cab body styles.

I never understood the Body color grille, my grill surround is chrome and the insert is charcoal gray, my truck is black. I thought it meant I'd get a sport grill.
