I dunno. The Sprinter was available as a Dodge and Freightliner, with only minor cosmetic differences.

That picture is just an artist rendering. If you look close those aren't 19.5" tires and wheels, their 17"s. The Sterling Bullet is just going to be a rebadged Ram 4500 or 5500, that will share all its parts. There won't be any MB or Detroit engines or anything far fetched like that.

So, Luke, are you saying there won't be a pickup option? It's strictly a C&C??

Not likely at all. I won't say there won't be, but I'll say its a 99% chance there won't be.

That's too bad. Once again, they're abdicating the heavy RV towing market (which is growing more sizeable all the time as the 5th wheels get larger and heavier) to Ford. If the 6.4L proves halfway reliable, Ford's F-450 pickup will be a home run for them.

If they don't offer a pickup, I'm sure various dealers will start stocking cab and chassis rigs with an aftermarket bed already mounted.

Something like those Royal Sport beds...

Problum is a person like myself needs the towing capacity the 5500 will have. But I like the factory box. All my hauling is with a trailer the last thing I want is a flatbed on my truck. Dodge really needs to follow Ford like the F450 on this one.

How hard would it be to just buy a bed and slap it on there though? A factory Dodge 3500 Dually bed that is.

Will the 4500/5500s have large wheel wells to accomodate largers wheels and tires (19.5s & 22.5s specifically) ? Don't the 450s and 550s do that? Or are they the same?

Also, I wonder what upgrades will be given to the 4500/5500 trucks over the 3500s. Will it be frame size and strength only? Brakes? Built-in Gauges?

I can't wait to see what they will look like.

Megacab long bed , even a long bed crew cab would be nice. Why is this so hard for DODGE to do? MY wife would be buying the airline tickets to Dave Smith motors her self if Dodge would build this truck. A 4500 or 5500 would be even better.

I could be wrong, but I thought one of the reasons Dodge didn't sell too many trucks to upfitters was that the frame rails weren't standard dimensions, where the new Cab and Chassis are? Meaning the frame width would be different than the pickups?

If that's true, we should all applaud DC for their infinite wisdom!!

Yes, the C+C is a standard frame width for upfitters, or outfitters, whatever you want to call them. That is one of the reasons you now see a lot more C+C Dodge trucks. A Dodge tow truck used to be quite a rarity, not anymore... The CTD has proven its might in the new C+C, and with a decent size quadcab, many truck fleets are switching to them for tow-trucks, I have seen 3 Dodge rollbacks in the past month here in MI, all 07's, few different companies... I know the one company in Mt. Morris switched from the D-Max they had to this Dodge, and so far are very impressed... I had a nice little chat with them while my buddy picked up his car from they're impound lot...
