IV got an 05.
Although I dont have to contend with the bad winters as you, I am very pleased with the total performance of the truck.
Everything I have done to the truck is in my sig.

The wife and I both really enjoy our 2wd trucks. The ride is smooth and better than any of the previous 1/2T trucks we have had. We don't have snow down here but we do have lots of rain and have never had any kind of weather related problems. 4wd is great for some people but for me all that is needed is the 2wd. Ed B

Thanks for the reply, another plus for me is the price.

I really like mine. But I sure do like the looks and ride height of the 4wd. They look so much better leveled and sitting high to me.

But I'm getting right at 20 on the highway now. Slowed down to the speed limit and save some good money with that.

The fuel milage makes up for anything you are missing with 4wd. getting 23+mpg is well worth it. as long as you have chains you are fine in snow/ice. Once they make lockers for the rear end you will not have any problems. My ride is pretty stiff because i have Timbrens on my truck, but that is the way i like my trucks to ride. I get motion sickness pretty bad in a smooth riding truck. I cant ride in a chevy because i get sick.

I am very happy with my 2wd dually. Like someone else said, I miss the higher look of the 4wd, but with my 22.5's and leveling kit, it is high enough for me. I mostly use mine to tow my 24 foot enclosed car trailer. In four years, my truck has just 17,000 miles.

Cost less to buy and maintain. Fewer parts to break or wear out. Rides great and looks lowered. Not much snow in my area.

I never even had 4wd when I was in Co. I either bought new tires for the rear or at least put the best two on the rear and add some weight when it snowed. Craig

I finally moved to a 2wd because of the improved steering, handling & ride. Since buying it, I've needed 4wd about 5 minutes in the last three years! I personally prefer the lower profile. With a tonneau cover, it looks sporty and gets lots of favorable remarks. Fuel consumption is better than my first gen, 4wd CTD while providing lots more power. If I drove off-road however, I'd stick with a 4wd.

It may not matter to you but they feel more powerful since they are 500# lighter. Even in a diesel that is alot.

I LOVE MINE!!! I've had my truck in alot of bad spots and if I ever got stuck, 4wd would probably only make matters worse for me. I like the ride, love the power, and dig the looks.

I like the 2wd and it does fine for me. But I'm not in the snow belt so I can't comment on that issue.
