I've got a 2007 1-ton dually quadcab that I need information on. What size are the door speakers front and rear, and is it possible to hook up a amp to the factory system? One more thing. When I fade to the rear speakers I have to turn the volume way up just to here them, almost full power. Is this normal?

6x9 in the front door, 5.25" in the rear, althought 6.5" will fit. If you have the laramie there is also 4" in the dash. In my opinion even the best of factory systems cannot even compare to a modest aftermarket system, in both gusto and sound quality. Anyone who has removed the "premium" infinity sound system knows they are still just cheaper paper coned speakers. If your looking for a good sound quality a good set of door speakers on an appropriate amp will make a world of difference. Even more so if you go with an aftermarket head unit.

 

I agree with blake. Forget the factory stuff. The speakers are crap. The head units are too. my .02
