2006 Ram 2500

Well guys, I have been viewing the site for about a month now in lieu of my diesel fever. I didn't want to consider a powerchoke because of the problems had with the 6.0 and I didn't want to consider a d-max because I was adament about buying a 6 speed and I would have been locked into the Allison. Needless to say, I finally made my purchase yesterday---- 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4, Laramie, 6 Speed, Black Pearlcoat over Silver, Sunroof, etc, etc. I'm going to post some pictures soon. I just wanted to say hello to everyone and let you know you'll see me on the board often.

Here's some pictures of the new truck. It needs to be cleaned, and you probably won't be able to see the flake (pearlcoat) in the black.

Cool, nice I think the front end of the 06+ trucks look better (imho). The lights into the fenders take some getting use to in the pics, but look fine up close.

the two tone paint. Should help with the rock chips showing on the lower body.

Now the big question, how long will it stay that way, stock. It took me a week to put on the steps, 2k miles for tires and mud flaps. 20k for a suspension. Waiting on the majority of the power stuff.

Well as I have just dropped some major dinero into this thing, I'm gonna try and take it easy for a little bit. Side steps are probably going to be the first investment, because I don't want to be having to jump into my new Caddy - that's what the Jeep in the background is for. I'd like to cut the cat and muffler off and run a straight pipe, but probably won't do so til the 3 yr 36000 is up. Thinking about putting some type of tuner on it, but not really sure which one I would be best off using. I don't want to get too much and end up hurting something. 315's will be on the way along w/ a 2" leveling kit once the tires wear out on it. I'd like to keep it down in ride height, don't want to get it too high. Basically, I'm gonna drive this thing til the wheels fall off so I'll be taking my time.

As for the front end on the 06. Personally, I like it much better than the prior front end. This is one of the sole reasons I went w/ the 06.

I just got the same color, only no two tone. I love the black, and I got the 6 speed also. I love the truck, and you are aright about spending a ton of money on them. They drive so nice stock, it is hard to add stuff that may monkey with the already awesome truck. Scotty

I agree 100%. One thing I forgot to add, the truck is going to have clear cab lights on it soon. Although I was wondering, are there going to be any clearance issues with the sun roof?

Congrats on the new truck, hope you like your 6 speed as much as I like mine!

Had it about 6 weeks and so far have added nerf bars, 285 Coppers, fender liners, a Raider canopy and the fuel vent kit.

Gauges and/or levelling kit soon I hope, for sure will get a condenser cover from Geno's...

with 315's ur gonna have to have a 3" levelin kit and still ur only gonna be able to have 8" wide rims do to scrubn. trust me i know from experience. dont look bad at all but if i were to do it again id also have a 3-4" body lift with 10 wide rims or even go to 14.50's.

315's on OE wheels will work without a leveling/lift kit only slight rub lock to lock. Been there and done that on a 05 and a 06 Pics in gallery.

This is incorrect. Many people run 315's on stock wheels without rubbin the fenders. Maybe touch the control arms. Im running 315's on H2 wheels (17x8.5) with zero rub anywhere. I at first ran them on stock suspension with zero rub and later in the week added my 2" spacer. They dont touch anywhere.

Congrats on the new truck. I love mine. Ive put almost 14k miles on it since the end of January when i bought it. It didnt take me long to add tires and wheels and spacers and gauges and a box and and and.... My wife is gonna hate this truck if i keep spending money on it. Ive been bitten by the bug and ive been trying to figure out what i can sell to fund my addiction.
