2006 Cab marker lights

It has been rumored the cab marker lights have been redesigned for 2006. Does anyone know for sure and if so can they be used on the pre 2006s?

Not sure they have been redesigned but they do have actual rubber gaskets around the edge now. Found out the week after I installed the previous style on my 05.

Cab Lights

Mine has a rubber/foam seal. it's not 100% rubber, and it's not foam, kinda hard to explain. The only one that leaks on mine is the center one. I siliconed it and it got a little bit more water in it, but that's it. I just leave it alone, still looks the same. One of these days I'll pull it off, and really silicone it. Last time I did the bottom gasket, and screw holes, top and bottom. I think the problem is between the light and the gasket, not the gasket and roof. Gonna put some silicone on the inside next time as well.

I had the dealer install marker lights on my 2006. So far, no leaks. The lights are somewhat different than the ones on the 2005 I traded in. The 2 lense screws are on each side of the 2006 lights. On the 2005 the screws were on the front and back of the lense. I never had any leaking problems on the 2005 either.

color?

Do these lights have to be orange by law? I've never seen anything other than orange, a different color may look cool.

Mine were leaking on my 78 GMC Motorhome, so I replaced them with LED. I have a buddy who works for SWA fixing airplanes and we used the two part FAA airplane epoxy to mount them. No more leaks.

This is why I did not want them on the new Dodge until they go LED.

In most states I believe the only light that can be visible from the front is white and amber. From the side I believe only amber and red can be visible.
