In 2004 you can now purchase the 24v HO with the Auto tranny. Until now you could only get the HO with the 6 shooter.. Does anyone know what improvements that were made to the Auto trans to make DC offer this as an option.<br>You cant oder it yet. I recently purchased one of the 5000 with this combo limited in 2003. Apparently the Ho was tering up the auto tranny therefore you could only buy the auto with the SO Cummings.

 

It's too bad you can't order one yet. Guess I'll have to make do with that ol' 48RE.

 

The HO has been available with the auto for several months now. do a search on 48RE and see what u come up with.<br><br>Dan

 

Welcome to the board Buck. <br><br>First of all there is no &quot;g&quot; in Cummins.<br><br>The HO/Auto combo has been available on 2003's for a couple of months.<br><br>This auto, commonly refered to as the 48re is not a modified version of the 47re that was offered with the SO trucks, it is an all new transmission.<br><br>There are several members on this board with this setup, and if you use the search feature you will find numerous threads on this subject.<br><br>Time will tell how good of a job DC did with this trans.

my 03has the 47re.i was thinking i was going to explode the thing-but 11,000 miles-and hard miles on her,no problem.i hear dodge beefed thr 47re up for 03 even more past 02.oh well-even with the edge e-z no problems.
