2004.5 computer issues, stranded
Hey there,
I have the 2004.5 Ram Cummins. The last few weeks, the truck would lose power as it warmed up. Major power loss, down to 45 mph on the highway, blowing lots of smoke. I had this problem in the past on and off, but not this severe. The truck has a new lift pump, and has full power at startup and until it warms up. After a while (mayvbe 20+/- minutes of being low/no power, it will return to normal as long as I stay out of the accelerator during this time. I have a very small window in the throttle where the truck runs, too much and it feels like it is flooding (I know, old car reference) A few days ago things went way worse. I came out and hit the remote unlock, and the wipers turned on... And since then I cannot turn off the parking lights. I know this is a computer problem, and thought perhaps I could re-boot the computer by pulling the batteries. Apparently this is not how you kill power to the computer, as leaving the batteries out for 2 days did nothing.. not even losing the radio presets?
So, does anyone know how to reset the computer, so maybe I can get home? The batteries are new, but will not survive the below zero temps we have with the dang parking lights on all day/night.

Your first issue sounds like you have a bad APPS. Do a search on the Timbo apps upgrade. Much cheaper than the dealer. You can also do the 3- key on, key off, and leave on the third time trick to pull the codes. I beat you have one for the APPS. The parking lights staying on issue, Do you have an aftermarket car alarm?

Don't know about your lights, but have you checked your air box and make sure it isn't packed with snow below the filter?? Sounds like your running out of air...
I thought that the only way to dump all the power from the computer is to disconnect both batteries and then touch the cables together to dump the energy from the computer capacitors..
