07' Engine and Tranny info...........

Just got off the phone with my zone sales manager who just returned from the dealer announcment show in Las Vegas that was held last week. I was supposed to go but I couldn't get away. Anyhow, he says they revealed an 07' Ram 3500 chassis cab with a 6.7litre Cummins and an Aisin 6-speed auto tranny. He did not have any specs or power levels but said that this would be the combo offered for all ram truck for the 07' model year. He was told the cab&chassis would be offered in regular and quad cab(no Mega) and in a 60" and 84" c.a. with a standard 34" wide frame rail. The rumored 4500/5500 was not unveiled but he says it is expected in the next 18 months as well. He said the cab on the C&C looked the same as the 06' model rams we are selling now, just a powetrain change.

I did some research on this engine and found that it is being used right now in the Agco RT series tractors and the Case IH MXU series tractors. This is how the origianl 5.9 came about, it was a tractor engine years before it was a truck engine. Hmmmmmm, I wonder why nobody puts 6.6 Duramaxes or 6.0 powerstrokes in tractors?

Oh heck yeah!!! Eat that ford/chevy boy. 6.7L of the baddest diesel out there. I wonder what the power specs are gonna be at? I hope this thing crushes the competition once and for all.

Well, the HP will have to be more than the current 5.9, and according to that one link it was up to 730ft-lbs. But the truck specs could even be more, who knows?

That one link also showed only 275hp. That would be sweet to have a 400hp/800tq stock truck.

highly doubtful

i highly doubt dodge is going to let the dirtymax get away with 360 HP stock and the cummins go from 325 HP, what it is now, to much smaller 275 HP. i would almost bet my truck they are going to jack the horsepower way up on the 6.7L to around 375 or somewhere in that range with torque going in the low 800's. but maybe i am just wishful thinking!! but i highly doubt dodge will put up with the dura's 360 and leave the rating on that engine to 275 HP. look for some huge improvements!!! the years to come are going to be awesome for dodge!!!

Guys, The 6.7 will be a 375 hp at 2500 rpm and 750 ft lb at 1450 rpm using a CP4 and a Holset VGT. mbg. Redline will be 3500 rpm in all six gears manual or auto. The fuel tank will be 40 gallons but will only hold 30. ks

wow they've finally figured out that guys need a cab/chassis. maybe ten more years they'll realize they need a cab/chassis with a full size crew/mega cab. i'm all for the bigger engine but wouldn't it be cheaper to turn up the 5.9 a little more?? by the time they get everything done it's going to cost $15k more than a pooperduty. speaking of that, one of our customers just lost his second 6.0 in his F550. 1st at 32k, second(new truck) at 51k. he's in a lawsuit with ferd now cause they won't cover it. he tows a 10k lb helicopter/trailer. he's looking for a dodge now.
