My 06 2500 ST has no woodgrain, which is good, because I'm not a fan of it.

i think the st is the only way to not get it...honestly for the price differene I wish I would have known. It still has power acc but the grill is different and has crappy wheels. For $2500 I would have got aftermarket wheels, 35's, painted the grill and bumper for a sport look and come out ahead.

You can always custom paint it.

I happen to like the woodgrain. But like arcojet said, the sport pkg. doesn't have the woodgrain.

What does the sport trim look like? I can't stand the woodgrain and it runs from the dash to the doors. I am thinking more and more that I should have gotten the sport package...

But if you get the sport package you get the nasty looking painted bumpers and painted grill.... Just my opinion though....I believe that the sport package comes with the carbon fiber look.

On the SLT the wood grain is in the center dash and a little on the doors, not from door to door. I think the Laramie has more wood. The base has no wood grain. You may be able to buy base or sport inserts and replace the offending items. There are only three,

I got the wood and didn't like it at first, was thinking about painting it but now it's kinda growing on me,...However, talking to the partsguy at the local dealership, I was informed there is a brushed alum kit I can get to replace the wood...

<edit> replaced "polished alum" with "brushed alum"

I'm iffy on it also. I really hate the look of the 06 interior - The best interior I've had was in my 99 Laramie, then the 03 was a little worse, and now I just hope my 06 wont drive me nuts. Everything now is so light colored, maybe the wood grain will break that up a little.

I hate that fake looking wood grain. It looks like a smashed piece of cork to me.I painted all the wood trim pieces the same color as my truck. Everyone who get's in the truck now love it. I got pics in my gallery when they get approved. Pics don't do much justice though

I agree that the fake looking wood crap is very ugly. I tried to find something to replace it in Dec. when i bought the truck and the parts guys could not seem to find anything, however i know that the sports have either carbon fiber or brushed aluminum in the same spot and the ST's have black around the stereo, one would just have to tell them you either have an ST or a sport and order what you want i guess. I decided not to because it has grown on me a bit, and i already replaced the stereo with aftermarket, and getting that panel off is B&(ch. Oh, and you can't just replace the wood part, it is the whole panel that surrounds the climate controls, radio, and all those little pockets on the dash, etc. Good luck to you guys who can't deal, i'm gonna live with mine, but yes it does suck. THey could have at least made it look like real wood, instead of some leopard/wood print ripoff.
