Thumbs down 06' Window Fell Into The Door

Only have 6000km on my new 06' and my 1st major problem. Drivng home last night and I stopped to give someone some help. As I drove away I rolled my window up and the window glass simply slid in to the door. I can't get it back up because it is too far down inside the door. The door panel has to come off. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a problem with the windows in these things?

Thanks.

I got mine when they first came out and the major problem was my rear power sliding glass would leak when it rained. Found out that chrysler and the glass company were in a battle over who was at fault. Apparently it was an install issue as mine had to be ripped out a few times to get it fixed properly, but they resolved this issue at the factory. I havent heard anything about the glass in the doors though.

Hasn't happened to me yet. But if it ever does there's a windsheild place in town that works on 'em. It's happened to me in other vehicles but it's no big deal. These guys fix this stuff everyday.

This happened to my brothers '05 Toyota Tacoma. Most likely a crappy install caused a bit of binding and a plastic part finally gave up the ghost. Just let the dealer do its thing. Its not likely it will happen again. Good luck!

Took it into the dealer this morning and had it fixed. The window sits in 2 small tracks on the bottom that hold it in place. The glue holding it in place failed and it fell out of the track. Their solution was to glue it back in with that black urethane adhesive that is used to seal windshields in. In my opinion this is an excellent fix that should prevent it from happening again. I am only concerned about the other 3 windows. When will they fail?

Probably the day after your warranty expires!

Wow, that's the first time I heard it happen to these trucks. I had a 94 Jeep Cheroke that did that twice when it was new. Seems like they made a good repair.

A few weeks ago, in a light misting rain, I lowered the front passenger side window so I could see before I backed out of the driveway. I heard a godawful screech but the window continued to operate. Since then, there has been a very irritating squeak-rub sound coming from that window as I drive. It's beginning to get on my nerves. I guess I'll have to take it to the dealer--it's still under warranty.

I had my last Dodge truck for over 10 years and never had any problem with the power windows. I don't think there's any chronic power window trouble with these trucks.
