06 Now In Driveway

Just got my 06 QC tx4 3500 SRW Bright Metallic Silver/Gray cloth yesterday. Took my seven year old to the Supercross last night and got nothing but compliments. I was very sceptical about getting the roof clearance lights, (I went out of my way not to get them on my last 5 F-250's) but wow am I glad I got them on this truck, I think the Dodge looks great with them. She goes in the shop monday to get the Factory DC tube steps put on and get the steel clad/chrome wheels swaped for the aluminum ones. Can't wait to see how she looks then.

Before you buy factory running boards, you might want to check these guys out: http://www.amp-research.com/. I especially like that they split the difference in height from the ground to the truck's floor. (For ground clearance purposes, most running boards are kind of high up making a big step to the running board and a small step into the truck. Wives are not impressed by this.) Also, they are tucked up in under the truck most of the time, so they don't get snow and ice on them. Lastly, it increases the wow factor when your friends open the door and see them come out. Installation is very straightforward. Took me a few hours.

Its a very nice feeling have your new baby in the driveway. Just bought an 06 2500 4X4 flame red Mega Cab. Best truck I have owned so far. Can't quit

$1,250 for the power steps.....The only thing I don't like about them is they are not available for a Dodge Regular Cab. One of the guys that works with me has bad hips and can't get up into the '05. I thought about tube steps like my other trucks have, but they reduce ground clearance a bit....so I wanted power steps. Now I did find something called Sidewinder steps that were OK, but still not the same as these power retractable steps...plus the Sidewinder's have a max capacity of 350lbs........so too big of a dude climbing into my truck will kill the sidewinders where the power step mentioned above holds 600lbs.

If you google for the power step running boards, you can get a little better price. Got mine for a little over a grand, delivered. Since I plan to keep the truck for 20 years, that's about $50/year. Well worth it in my book.
