06 Idle Problem?

I have an 06 CTD Ram with a 6 Spd.
A couple of times since I bought the truck, I noticed it idling up by itself to about 1000 rpm. Again, this has only happened twice to me, but Im wondering if it might be a problem. Is the truck supposed to do this? If so, for what reason?
Thanks

That is normal for it to idel up when the temp gets below a certin temp. It does this to help warm up the engine and keep it warm ( If it did not do this when its cold your engine would get to cold and wet stack) and to help keep the cylinders hot so as to keep the fuel from washing the oil off the piston wall ( wet stack) and hurting the rings and of course the cylinder wall.
