06 5.9litre to an 08 6.7litre
I am thinking about moving to a new 2008 Mega cab, for my lease on the 06 Mega Cab is finished the end of March. Any opinions?

I personally would stick with the 5.9L. My truck has a few issues (dodge parts) and i looked at the 6.7's, but with a solid 5.9'er i'm keeping this one for the long haul. Emmissions restrictions on the 6.7 are a bummer....

If you drive a new 08 then you will buy it. Lots of nay-sayers but usually not anyone who has actually done it. I did go from an 07 5.9 to an 08 6.7 and I loved my truck. Unfortunately the poor economy forced me to make a tough decision and sell it to relieve me of the monthly payments. Yes the 6.7s had their problems but simply unplugging the EGR and/or doing the DPF deletes yields much higher fuel mileage and probably a bit more power. The vast majority of problems experienced by 6.7 owners are due to the emissions junk they put on these trucks and if you keep that in mind and plan on unplugging/removing things, if needed, then you will be very happy with your truck.
I'm having to go back to a 5.9 truck now and I which it weren't so. The engine is great but I don't trust the older auto trannies. The 68RE is truly a great transmission and the factory E-Brake is great too.......

Hey Dodgezilla, maybe you will be back up to speed when the 2010s come out. I saw some pictures on one of the forums and I like them, even though they have some ford styling queues. I had to move for a while to keep working. Best of luck.

Yes you can get fined but I have not heard of one instance... Yes you may lose your warranty if parts fall off your truck. Any kind of mods to a 6.7 may cause you warranty issues. It was the same for the 5.9s too. I remember back when I got my 03 and the dealers were telling us that if we simply put a better intake on the truck then our warranties would be gone.

I traded my 2002 Ford PSD for my 2006 MegaCab. I new about the new emisions and wanted to get the last of the legendary 5.9L before they changed them FOREVER. Stick with what you got unless you are upside down on your lease.
