05 2500 58K QC for $24,900
05 2500 58K QC for $24,900
A good friend of mine has been looking for a replacement for his 06 Chev 1/2 ton ext cab. He has been put in a mangement position for his job and has been using his truck for towing and hauling various loads in which his truck cannot handle. His truck had around 40K on it and it is leather.
He has been lookin for either a duramax or a dodge and asked me to help him, he has a price range and he connot seem to find a dodge in that range (under 25K) and definately cannot find a chev for close to that without a billion miles. I found a 05 2500 QC 4X4 auto with 58K on the meter for 24,900 at a local dodge dealer. To me this price seems VERY good, the truck has cloth interior and full power. Seems very similiar to mine (Big Horn package) but has only the 2500 emblems on the side. Has fog lights and seems very clean. Dealer says that the customer trades in every few years so there is no problem with the truck, he traded it on a 08 Mega.
Does this price seem too good to be true or is it in the proper range. Another dealer on the other side of town had a 04 305/555 truck with 80K for 27,900 and was not as clean but had 18" wheels. Just looking for some input, planning on going and driving the truck tomorrow for my friend to get a good feel of it.
Thanks.

I found a 2005 QC dually 6sp 2 yrs ago for 30k-- but bought a new 06 because of O%. But as you know, market dictates, I would check edmunds among others. It may be best buy around though, not that many miles, either.Good luck to your buddy.
I'm sure you've probably done this, but check autotrader to see what trucks similar to this one are going for.
I was offered 24K as a trade-in price for my truck (see sig) with 20K miles on it...I say this only to point out that there is probably a good bit of room to negotiate with the dealer if 24,900 is the 'sticker' price. All-in-all, it sounds like a good deal without having seen the truck.
Good luck!
