04 MF switch
04 Multi function wiper switch
Wipers quit again have done this several times including stoping in middle of windshield and coming on when you hit bump.Read thread on removing switch but no screw to remove for tilt button on 04 that I can find. All functions of switch work but wipers.Last week amps for stereo quit along with wipers but started working again later.??
I just started to remove my MFS as well. My very late 2004.5 doesn't have a screw retaining the tilt lever also. But through this video I discovered that it slips off by pulling it towards the driver's seat.
I've only watched it to that point and am continuing with the rest as outlined by Shorts.

So your switch was OK?
I lost my intermittent function for a while but it worked in the regular and fast position. Then they started losing power and/or quitting. Worked sometimes when I pressed the washer button or gave the wipers a push, steadily got worse.
I got my switch out but will probably finish tomorrow after work.
How hard is it to change the wiper motor? Through the cowl or under the dash?

Yes, since I installed a new motor, the wipers have "usually" been working correctly. They still have an occasional glitch, I believe with the intermittent feature, but at least I don't have to worry about getting caught in the rain. It's still weird when they decide to turn on for a swipe or two all by themselves. It's rare, but it's happened before the problems and since the repairs.
It certainly doesn't hurt to go through the switch. But I figure the motor can have contact issues as well that only a replacement will fix.

Thanks for the input. Yes, my wipers seem to have a mind of their own and they have stopped working on the intermittent settings altogether. I plan to get a motor, do you have a recommendation? I checked them out at rock auto for price point, but wonder if there is a "preferred replacement" from users here...
I believe that the motors have only one or two sources that most of the auto parts stores use, just different labels, like a lot of other products. I think I got mine from Advanced Discount Auto. I'd just go with the best overall deal, as long as it has a warranty.
Maybe someone else has a little more info.

Thanks Locomotion! I replaced the whole "wiper module" from Dodge. It replaces the wiper motor and arm assembly. Now, my intermittent works as it expected, and it was time to replace it all, as the bushings in the wiper shafts were shot. The ball joints were dry, too. So, it was going to fail sooner than later, anyway. I picked the module from from my dealer for around 200, dropped it in and bingo - all was good to go. Upon further investigation, I took apart the old wiper motor to look at the contacts inside. I would venture to say that the contacts were either corroded or were not making good contact, and for others that have an issue with their setup, might be well served to take it apart and clean it, and possibly "close" up the contacts so they make a tighter connection. This theory is of course not tested.
