04.5 Weight

I called DC this morning, again, to check on the status of my truck. While I had them on the line I asked for the shipping weight of the truck. I was a little suprised at her response. 7369 pounds!

Normally I would think that is cool, but considering the GVW of 9900 lbs, by the time I load up with people and fuel my payload will suffer.

What are similar equipped trucks weighing in at. Maybe they have things on the truck during shipping that adds to the weight. I cant imagine the trucks are crated.

I realize this is not a 04.5 but my 03 2500 SLT 4x4 SRW LB NV5600 HO was just weighed a couple weeks ago and came in at 7340 with no occupants, a full tank, tonneau cover, running boards, box liner, and some under seat stuff. On your 3500 you would have the extra spring pack.

Mine (see below) was quoted at 7098 lbs. They don't crate them....

NJ, There is a 270 lb diffrence in the weights of our trucks. I doubt the helper springs weigh that much. There may be some other hidden diffrences between the 2500 and 3500 SRW. I dont even have all of the goodies that you have. And bemidji had full tank of fuel, cover etc.etc and I've got 29 lbs on him. Go figure.

I wonder if they use a heavier gauge steel for the frame or other on the 3500's?

When it shows up I'll fill up the tank and go get an accurate weighing. I find it hard to believe that the weights should vary so much.
