Question 04.5 Tow hitch... Need weight #'s

Looking to buy a new travel trailer and need to set up the hitch. I have the factory installed hitch with the tow package. I can not find a weight limit or spec of any kind listed on the hitch. The paper work from the factory says it's a class IV hitch. Does any one know what the weight limit for a weight distribution hitch is on this truck?

I believe it is 12,000lbs with 1200lbs tongue weight. It might be 12,500/1250, but it is no less than 12,000/1200.

You can also replace the factory hitch with a Class V if you need to. Hope that helps.

What I got from the dealer is:

Weight carrying = 600 lbs. tongue and 6,000 tow
Weight distributing = 1,200 lbs. tongue and 12,000 tow

The information isn't listed on the hitch anywhere. I agree that a Class V would be a better idea. Whenever I get around to pulling a decent trailer I'll probably swap in a Class V.
