An '03 short coming.

> Kinda upset that my ATV ('02 Grizzly) won't fit in the back of my truck without having the tail gatedown. I can understand the 1/2 ton with the shorter bed, but a one ton? How can you come close to exceeding the payload ratings on a short bed one ton...anyway, wish I got the long bed...I do like the looks better of the short bed though. One thing's for sure, you can't tell that the 700lbs is even back there.
Didn't have this prob on my '01 Chev SB.
Just a vent.

Re:An '03 short coming.

There are bed extenders. If it was maybe 3-4 inches longer it would fit. My Chev left a couple inches or so to spare.

Re:An '03 short coming.

isn't the chevy shortbed something like 6'8"? the 03 dodge is just 6'3"... an upgrade for me... my last truck (ranger) was only 6'0" and with the bedliner i was more like 5'9"!

Re:An '03 short coming.

My 98 was a short bed. Got it so it would leave plenty of walking space in garage. Wished for 4 yrs it was a long bed. 2003 is a long bed, it will fit in garage and leaves 12 inches for walking, problem is must fold in towing mirrors to get in the door. Now I have to clean out my shop for a garage, door is wide enough there. Always some problem and for every problem a solution.

Re:An '03 short coming.

A friend of mine just got a 03 2500 short bed because he liked the looks better. After a couple of weeks he was kind of kicking himself in his rear after he saw how it looked with his sled hanging out the back.

When I bought mine I figured I would get the biggest thing I could - - just in case.
