You need to print some of those old threads from where the orfice and line were discussed and give them(dealer)a copy and say read this please.Old threads were from Beemo(worked in R&D with Chrysler but never jumped up and said so)and Spooler was involved.Dealer I use put on the latest part number orfice and line on mine after he read those threads last summer with no argument. It made a differance in the ac performance but mine still leaks down.

The only thing that it can be is the heater core. The heater core is on the passanger side. So if you bypass the heater core during the summer the a/c will be cold on the passenger side. I think you might be able to install a couple of valves and a bypass before the heater core lines get to the firewall and then in warmer weather you can turn off the flow to the heater core therefore bypassing it.

Theres a reason heater core valves have been done away with a number of years ago in most all vehicles.I think its a long life coolant issue, jelling and getting hard and maybe a recirculating issue.I started to add a valve to mine a couple years ago and decided it wasn't a wise move.

Wow.... talk about digging up an old one. Oh, and no, it was not because of the heater core. My truck is still good to go with no problems in the southern humid heat.

I'm having these issues when it warms up down here.(South La 95 deg. 100% humidity days from june-sept.) Been through the dealer thing and they said it was normal for a diesel. That was last summer when it was still in warranty. Now I'm thinking about doing the line replacement b/c I have access to gauges/vacuum pump. I read that the total charge is 2 lbs. but don't I need to put oil also? Thanks for the input and I love DTR!!

Noop, no oil needed unless you pull some out. If you have an R134 machine make sure you drain the recovery system and empty the catch can before you start. If you just have gauges and a vaccum pump no oil will be needed.

Since it is nice and hot outside and mine was blowing hot air on the pass side, I found this thread very useful to bring back to the top. I decided to first try a can of freon. So far so good but I need a couple of days of running to make sure.

No, on your truck change the line with the new orifice size in it. That line was made for 06' trucks orignally as a fix for this issue. It was just adopted for earlier model trucks.

Hi there everyone, I have read every post on this thread and I too have the same issue whit the AC blowing diffrent temps from the driver and passenger side. now my question is.....can the same issue solution(134A pressure/charge level) that has been talked about be applied to the Hemi as well???

Don't know but I would assume same evaporator and if so yes.The evaporator does not get fully cold across it when freon gets low.Drivers side may actually get colder for a while until level gets lower.First rule of thumb on most any repair is "Basics".So the place to start is freon level.Have seen rats nest cause same complaint.LOL

so do you know how much charge should be in the system for it to be full?? what is the diffrence in the Hemi and the CTD?? if you know???

I think all of this started after we got it back from the bodyshop after they had to put a new frame under the truck because of an accident that i was in....they might not have put the correct amount back in the system...not sure though....
