That sucking sound is California $$$ going to the wealthy Texas oil companies.

I don't know about all this silly $2.50 a gallon nonsense. Just head down to the marina and get yourself some diesel. Sure its got high sulpher content, but it does the job just the same. Diesel at the 'ole Marina is $.98.

Price gouging has is very little to do with the rich Texas oil companies. Blame it on the franchise stations that raise the prices at their whim. The majority of gas stations in Texas and elsewhere are owned/operated by Arabs. or people of middle east decent. There was a station 3 blocks from my home in San Antonio that had it's diesel marked at least .15 cents higher than all competitors because it sat on a popular location, and tourist passing through didn't know any better. I live in Alabama now, and its no different.... case in point.... just today.... one station is charging $1.55 at noon, and at 1:30 they hike it up to $1.69, and the station down the street 1000 yds has it for $1.51. Does diesel go up .14 just for that station? He77 no... All this makes me And don't blame the Republicans, if Dems were in office, you'd be paying $3 a gallon because of all the taxes they levy on everything and it's brother.

Maybe it's just gov't pensions. I think they lost the federal version, at least.

$1.79 today in western Colorado.
What was that about gas flowing, and fuel prices dropping after we won the war in Iraq?
While on vacation in Kauai, in Hawaii, last month, we were paying $2.49.
Fuel prices, health insurance and prescription costs are among the things that spoil life for retired people.
