Update: About 50 (x three days )miles a day to and from work no engine light yet!

 

Anyone know where I might be able to find a smarty jr compatible with deletes?

 

There's several in the for sale sections on the cummins forum. Problem is you have to have over 50 posts and be a member for a month to vue the for sale posts.

 

Thanks I did find one not far from me on Craig's list anything I may need to be careful with this? The only thing I can think of is to make sure the VIN isn't locked, is there an easy way to tell?? Anything else I should be cautious about??

Make sure there isn't a "US" in the serial number as those are emission compliant tuners and cannot load or use a delete tune.

 

Well so far no engine light with the reboot code i will post any changes and add any parts that i have for sale here as i don yet have 50 posts thanks for the heads up maybe all others can post their adds here too and moderators messages thanks

23me is a pretty old tune.
I would try the newest one which is DRM01L.7z

Just a thought that i should return the truck to the stock tune before i reload the smarty with the me tunes . Putting the truck back to stock before i start the delete ?

 

It's your call. Mads says you can load a new tune over an existing one.
I wouldn't worry about it unless I was changing tuners. IE: Smarty to H&S etc.

 

Its been a while... I think I'm still running the 27ME version on my Smarty Sr.

i have waited here to do the delete because i was a bit afraid of messing up the truck .
exhaust pipe needs to be replaced so at this time i think i will proceed with the rest .
