May even try the Smarty Edge Stack for a while.

I think Smarty is the most reliable for the deletes, and have caught wind that the TPMS may even be next on their list.

Im plum tired of waiting for the Edge to clear trouble codes to start my truck.

Other than that though, the Edge has been a good unit.
i wouldnt stack them if i were u

Any reason why the stack would not be a good idea?

because Smarty says not to is probably the best reason. both advance timing in their best modes, and stacking 2 that do that is a BIG no no. not to mention you'd need fuel system upgrades. on the "other" forum, their are quite a few guys (several threads on it) with blown head gaskets running just the Smarty. not wise to add anything to it.

The Edge I have has the option to use stock timing, so I could turn off the Edge timing and just use the Smarty for timing, or vice versa.

Probably wouldnt run em both full out, just curious what the Smarty on SW3 and the EJA on 2 or 3 would be like.

This was taken directly from the MADS website...
*** All even numbered softwares (2-4-6-8) without timing are to be used
for stacking with other after market power adding devices that also add
their own timing. NO additional timing has to be used with the odd
numbered softwares (1-3-5-7-9).
Severe engine damage will result !!!

Because you can't just turn a Smarty up. You would have to upload a different level. With the Smarty loaded with no advanced timing, you have Power On Demand by stacking another tuner such as the Edge.

I have my Smarty on level 2. When I want to have more fun, I just increase the Edge Juice up to level 6 if I wanted.

You can do the Black Maxx and have the same power as the smarty, but with the gauges and power changes on the fly like the edge.

i hear you with the shift on the fly. i am loking into trying a new tuner also, but with the troubles i've read with the Smarty and head gaskets, i am a bit skeptical of stacking it with anything, timing or not.

Thats what I was thinking.

How does the stack work for you. How is the smoke output when turning the Edge up? I know with the Smarty it should be kept to a minimum.

I dont want to be smokin things out everywhere I go, but to roll a little every once in a blue moon aint bad.

Yes but I like the options that the Smarty has, the reputation that the Smarty has, and I already own the EJA.

The Black Maxx does look like a very good unit though.

There is surprisingly no smoke. When I had just the Edge and still had the DPF, I could blacken everything behind me when I was on setting six. I miss the smoke.

Now with the Smarty Edge stack, I have both power and no smoke. I do like having no smoke because it is one less red flag with the smog *****.

Marco said he programmed the Smarty for no smoke. if you want smoke go with the Black Max or XRT. my Edge on level 6 and low end responsiveness set to highest barely gives any smoke either. just a little under full throttle.

JMHO I've run the Edge /Smarty since my conversion has been on the road and Saturday I unplugged the edge from the injectors and map sensor, and all I can say is I now have more power and less smoke, the edge was a major loss of midrange.I loved the edge for simpilicity and neat gauges but not for HP.
This is on an 05 CR mind you and I had read many post about Edge not stacking well and now I'm A Beliver

the smarty WILL leave a footprint on the 6.7. it says it right on their site. the Edge won't leave a footprint, but just remember that really any fooler or programmer can be traced if you exceed factory parameters. so if you exceed the rev limiter, speed limiter, boost limiter etc., then they can see that.
