kschalk,
does anybody know with the new flash for the smarty s67 is it still tracable by the dealers
My buddy works at Dodge and he said they can tell on any of the trucks even the early years. Yes Smarty is untracable to a point but they can tell. Just depends how deep they go. So if you want to mod FEEL your Tech out and make sure he is OK with this.

No, it was explained to me that this was for the lockout on new chrysler software, the 09 issue is still there. At least thats what MADS told me!
Heres the E-mail i got from them!:
Hello,
I am not sure to have understood you question.
About the new software update of the 6.7L trucks, we are working on it and in a few days we will publish the new update on our web site.
About the compatibility to new trucks, built after march 2009, our research is going on but I cannot tell any release date.

When can we expect an updated 6.7l smarty software so that we may use smarty on trucks that have been recently flashed by the dealer. In the event that we use a current revision of smarty software is there a chance to damage the trucks ECM beyond repair? Just holding out buying a smarty until I hear whether is safe or not.
Thanks,
Dan

Could someone clairify this "09" ECM issue for me. I have an 08 that went in a few months back for a new turbo and ???updates does that mean the smarty won't work or does it depend on the build date? THKS

The latest smarty software release, R15s and R15me, only addresses the latest Chrysler flash for 07.5, 08, and 09 trucks. Before this Smarty software release, if you took your truck into the dealer recently and got the latest flash, your Smarty would not load. With this latest Smarty software, you are good to go again.
The 09 ECM issue is a bootloader firmware that is built into the ECMs of all trucks BUILT after March 09. This firmware locks the ECM if an aftermarket downloader device (such as Smarty) tries to alter the programming. If the ECM locks, the dealer has to unlock it which is costly from what I hear. This does NOT affect '08 and '07.5 model year trucks, nor does it affect '09 model year trucks built prior to March 2009. The only way it could affect your pre-march 09, 08, or 07.5 truck would be if you had your ECM replaced by the dealer since March 09. The latest Chrysler flash does NOT incorporate this bootloader firmware.
Hope this clears things up a bit.

The 6.7L I just bought was built on 03/09........ Is it locked or not. I keep reading PRE-march and or only affects ECM's after March builds. Also, how do I find the exact date in which the truck was made?
Thanks for helping me.
