Need Help: Question about EGR blocker and SMARTY

I'm am looking at installing a AFE Intake, SMARTY Tuner and AFE exhaust. With what I have read, my question is:

"I was wondering if that AFE Kit came with a DIRTY EGR blocker kit or something like that to remove all the emmissions components
EGR/CAT/DPF. I believe with what I read that the smarty will remove the DPF, CAT, and EGR codes but you actually need a blocker kit to stop the flow to the EGR."

I recieved a reply:

"I have looked into the blocker kit and there is NO need for it with the set-up I sourced for you. Reason is the install procedure for the Smarty tuner is to unplug the throttle switch so the EGR never opens again. I am not the ultimate expert on this procedure - but my sources indicate to me that the EGR will be kept out of the system. The exhaust gases will not block up the system"

Can anybody clarify this answer or do I need a EGR blocker kit?

Sorry might have put this in the wrong section.

Yes, you will need to block off the EGR and remove the tube assembly in front. I purchased my blocker plates on line from one of the members either on this forum or from this forum:http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/
I would do a search on these two forums and look for EGR blocking plates.
Then you will need to follow the instructions on the Smarty Web site that you down load and print.
This has worked for me and I am very happy with my set up.
Good Luck

You don't need to remove or block off anything if you don't want to. Just follow the instructions on the Smarty ME. You remove the plunger from the EGR motor is all. I put a freeze plug into the EGR tube for some safe measure and left everything in place and looks stock, but performs much better!
