I want to update my smarty jr to the latest software, do I need to return truck to stock before I install update on the programer or just update the programer and it will work with the truck having old software still installed?
Also I'm still running 25me is it worth upgrading?

 

You can just upgrade your programmer from the computer and upload the software program you want to the truck to overwrite the current program. You don't need to go back to stock to upgrade. When it asks for the program you want to load from the programmer you select the same one you have been using. I have the Smarty SR. so the options are a little different, but it should work the same.

Recent upgrades dealt with some overhead messages IIRC, don't know if it did much to the actual engine program. I'm still on 25 I think as well, haven't upped to 28 yet.
